Amy Beth Hopkins, MPT

has her Masters degree in physical therapy from Loma Linda University. She has been practicing physical therapy for 12 years and specializes in a hands-on approach to patient care. "I know that with one-on-one care and an individualized treatment program clients will enjoy success, reduction of pain and return to the activities that they love to do. It was the vision of giving quality time to patients in an environment that really allowed them to integrate the treatment into their lifestyle that inspired me to open the practice."
Eight years later Your Personal Best has provided hands-on physical therapy to many of Austin's Top Athletes and individuals seeking relief from chronic pain conditions. Amy Beth has specialized training in manual therapy including joint mobilizations and myofascial release techniques. She pays special attention to the overall alignment of the body and how that contributes to the current manifestation of symptoms. She works to bring the body into better alignment and balance to not only improve the current condition, but prevent future injuries from occurring.
Amy Beth is the owner of the clinic. She lives in Austin with her husband Alan Hopkins M.D.and three young sons Jacob, Noah and Ashton. She enjoys reading, yoga, pilates and spending time with her family and friends.
Elaina Vallo, MSPT

Kristy Demers, DPT

received her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis and her Bachelors degree in Motor Development/ Kinesiology from Texas A&M University. She also has her Pilates certification from Peak Pilates. Kristy bases her treatment on the fact that repetitive movements and sustained postures can alter the ideal movement patterns of the body, thus adversely affecting the surrounding tissues and contributing to pain. Kristy enjoys helping individuals achieve correct movement patterns to not only address the source of pain, but the cause. Kristy lives here in Austin with her husband, and she enjoys exercising, Pilates, water sports, and spending time with her family and friends.

Susan Steffes, PT, CD (DONA)

Susan Steffes received her Physical Therapy degree from Texas State University in 1994. She has completed and passed exams for each of the 5 specialized courses in Pelvic & OB/GYN physical therapy sponsored by the American Physical Therapy Association’s Section on Women’s Health and is currently working on case studies as her last requirement for dual certification in Pelvic PT and OB/GYN PT. Susan treats a variety of pelvic issues such as pelvic pain and instability, urinary & fecal incontinence, and pregnancy/postpartum related issues. Evaluation and treatment are patient-centered and evidence-based with the utmost regard to informed consent/refusal and may include both external and internal pelvic work.
Adding a holistic dimension to her approach toward the prevention and treatment of pelvic issues, Susan has as a DONA International Certified Birth Doula and Birthing From Within Childbirth Mentor. She also offers a variety of free community education classes for women. Susan is involved with the APTA Section on Women’s Health, the Coalition for Improving Maternity Services, the Central Texas Birth Network, the Lake Travis Independent School District’s Student Health Advisory Committee, and Impact Austin.
Julee Wilkes, PTA

Julee grew up in Austin, graduating from Westlake High School. She received her associates degree as a physical therapist assistant in 1995 from ACC. She is also a practicing acupuncturist, obtaining her Masters in Oriental Medicine in 2000 from the Academy of Oriental Medicine in Austin. She is currently licensed in Texas as an LPTA. In addition she has been nationally certified as a Diplomate of Oriental Medicine (Acupuncturist/Chinese Herbalist) by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) since 2000, as well as fully licensed by the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners since 2000.
Julee finds her two careers blend together nicely, providing a wonderful balance when working with structural /orthopedic conditions which can cause pain. The holistic nature of her practice (East/West influences) provides a nurturing, relaxing environment for healing. Julee enjoys problem solving with her patients to identify any issues that could be hindering the healing process. Helping patients achieve optimal body alignment through body work and exercise will ultimately lead to improved freedom of movement without pain. She feels it is especially important to empower her patients in their journey to healing.
Julee continues to pursue various types of studies which enhance her understanding of the mind, body and spirit connection. She is currently focused on hand analysis to help people find their life purpose and life lesson. When not being the perpetual student she enjoys time with her boyfriend and 2 dogs.
